As of November 2026, schools that enroll with UAS, a TSI company, can send students to sign their loan promissory notes online. The student reviews the loan, reads the required disclosures, completes loan counseling and signs, and UAS files the signed note to the account it then services. Exit counseling and the repayment disclosure run online too.

The paperwork that holds up a loan
A school loan can't disburse until the note is signed and the counseling is done. On paper that means appointments, missing pages and a staff member scanning signatures into a file, in the busiest weeks of the term.
The note also matters long after the semester. It's the document a servicer bills from and the one a collector or auditor asks for years later, so a signed note that's filed to the right account from day one saves trouble at the end.
How it works for the student
- 01
The school sends the link
Students reach the signing site from a link their school provides. Only schools enrolled with UAS can use it.
- 02
The student gathers three things
Their financial aid award letter, a driver's license, and the names and contact details of personal references.
- 03
Review, read, learn, sign
The student reviews the loan offer, reads the disclosures the program requires, completes entrance counseling and signs the promissory note electronically.
- 04
The signed note goes on the account
The signed note and disclosures are filed to the borrower's UAS account. Later, the borrower can download them from the UAS Connect portal.
What the school gets
Fewer office visits
Students sign from their own device, so the aid office spends its time on the students who need advice.
One record from signature to payoff
The same account holds the signed note, the disclosures, every statement and every payment. When an auditor or a collector asks for the note, it's there.
Counseling on both ends
Entrance counseling happens at signing. When a student leaves, exit counseling and the repayment disclosure are online too, and a completion file can feed your registration holds. Institutional and Perkins loan servicing covers the rest of the loan's life.

Questions buyers ask
Can students e-sign institutional loan promissory notes?
Yes, if the school is enrolled with UAS. Students sign online after reviewing the loan, reading the disclosures and completing entrance counseling, and the signed note is filed to the account UAS services.
What does a student need to sign a school loan online?
Their financial aid award letter, a driver's license and contact details for personal references, plus the link from their school.
Is loan counseling part of the online signing?
Entrance counseling is completed as part of signing. Exit counseling and the repayment disclosure are completed online when the student leaves school.
Where does the signed note end up?
On the borrower's account at UAS, where the school's staff can see it and the borrower can download it from UAS Connect.
