Recovery analytics that compare every agency on the same accounts

Each agency reports on its own terms, and none of them can tell you who nets you the most. DebtNext puts every partner on one basis, by tier, by placement month and after commission, so you move volume on what you net.

As of November 2026, DebtNext, a TSI company, gives creditors recovery analytics that compare every collection agency and law firm on the same basis: liquidation and net back by tier, results by placement month (pool), cost and commission, and the work each partner reports. Dashboards run inside DebtNext, and the data can also flow to your own BI tools.

Results vary by portfolio, agency network and program.

Why partner reports don't add up

Agency A says it liquidated 12%. Agency B says 10%. You moved volume to A last quarter. Did you net more?

You can't tell from their reports. Each one counts from a different start date, nets out different fees and works a different slice of your accounts. A partner holding younger, smaller balances will always look better than one holding the hard ones, and an open pool flatters whoever got it last.

So allocation decisions rest on habit and the partner with the best slide deck. The agency net back calculator shows how far a headline rate can drift from what you keep.

The comparison that matters

Here's one tier, three partners and $1 million placed with each. The figures are illustrations, not results.

Partner Liquidation Commission Recovered Fees paid Net back to you
Agency A 12% 30% $120,000 $36,000 $84,000 (8.4%)
Agency B 10% 20% $100,000 $20,000 $80,000 (8.0%)
Agency C 11% 22% $110,000 $24,200 $85,800 (8.6%)

TSI arithmetic, illustrative. The partner with the highest liquidation isn't the one that nets you the most. DebtNext runs this math on your real placements, by tier and by pool, every month.

What's included

  • Pools by placement month

Accounts placed in the same month with the same partner form a pool. Closed pools give a fair, finished comparison; open pools show which partner is pacing ahead.

  • Net back by tier

Inventory, payments, cost and net back for each tier (pre-collect, primary, secondary, tertiary, specialty) and each partner, over time.

  • Liquidation by account type

Results split by the account traits you choose, such as balance size, age or reason for closure, so you see which partner suits which segment.

  • Work effort

Activity each partner reports, grouped as phone attempted, contact attempted, contact established and lettered. Low effort on a weak pool tells you why it's weak.

  • Inventory you haven't placed

A review of eligible accounts that never reached a partner, and accounts stuck between tiers. Recoveries you can't see on any scorecard live here.

  • Your BI tools, too

Role-based dashboards inside DebtNext, scheduled reports and exports, plus data extracts to your warehouse or a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau.

How you use it

  1. Load placements and partner activity

Your placement files and each partner's daily activity and payment files feed the same account records, so every report starts from one set of numbers.

  2. Compare on closed pools

Each month, review partners on pools old enough to compare, by tier, with net back after commission as the lead measure.

  3. Test before you move volume

Split a segment between two partners by allocation share, let the pools close, and compare. Allocation rules can also award more of a segment to the partner that's ahead.

  4. Change allocation on the record

Update allocation shares in the rules, and the change, the user and the date sit in the audit trail next to the numbers that justified it.

Where it fits

Analytics tells you who to send volume to. The same partners' complaints, exceptions and reconciliations sit in agency oversight, so a partner that nets well but runs up complaints shows on both. TSI analysts can also run this analysis for you as part of Portfolio Management (Powered by DebtNext), with your team keeping access to every report.

Thinking about replacing an agency after a weak quarter? Compare it on closed pools first. A weak open pool can be timing.

What you see

Dashboards show placements, recoveries, liquidation, net back, compliance indicators, exception counts and timeliness, with filters for partner, portfolio, stage and period. Users save their own filters. Rights templates decide who can see personal data and who sees only totals.

Questions buyers ask

What is recovery analytics?

Reporting that measures what each collection agency and law firm recovers for you, on a consistent basis: by tier, by placement month and after commission, so you can compare partners and decide where accounts go.

How do you compare collection agency performance fairly across different portfolios?

Compare partners on matched slices: the same tier and segment, accounts placed in the same months, measured on closed pools, with net back after commission as the lead measure. Liquidation on open pools favors whoever received accounts last.

What is net back in collections, and how is it calculated?

Net back is what you keep after fees: money recovered minus commissions and other collection costs, shown as a share of the balance placed. In the table above, $110,000 recovered at a 22% commission leaves $85,800, or 8.6% of $1 million placed.

Can we load DebtNext data into our own BI tools?

Yes. Data extracts can go to your warehouse, and reports can feed tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

How often should a creditor change collection agency allocation?

Often enough to act on closed pools, and no faster. In Portfolio Management (Powered by DebtNext) programs, partners are reviewed monthly and market share moves quarterly. Moving volume on one month of open-pool data chases noise.
