As of November 2026, TSI's payments service lets customers pay a placed account at any hour from a text or email link, a secure pay page or an automated phone line, by card or bank account. They pay in full, start a plan or accept a settlement you've approved, and the money reaches you through a trust account.
Results vary by portfolio, including account age, balance and type, and by client program.

What a phone-only payment costs
The customer who's ready to pay opens your notice at 11 p.m., on a phone. If the only way to pay is to call during business hours and read a card number to a stranger, some put it off, and some never come back.
Your collectors pay for it too: every minute keying in a card number for someone who already wanted to pay is a minute taken from a customer who needs a conversation.
And then the money has to come back to you. Ask any agency where a customer's payment sits tonight, when it reaches you and whether each dollar traces to your remittance. If the answers are vague, find out whether your cash sits in a trust account or mixed into operating funds.
What's included
A pay page that works on a phone
A secure page in your branding (or TSI's, on third-party accounts), reached from a text or email link, a QR code on a letter or the code printed on it. Customers see the balance, pay in full, set up a recurring payment, start a plan, update contact details or raise a dispute.
Plans and settlements inside your limits
You set the settlement range, down payment and plan length. Offers can go out by letter or email, and the pay page can accept a settlement inside your thresholds. Anything outside them comes back to you first.
Text and email with a pay link
Two-way texts and emails in your voice carry a link straight to the balance. Consent and opt-outs are tracked by channel, and a reply like STOP ends texts.
An automated phone line, all hours
The phone line gives the balance, takes card and bank payments, sets up a plan and confirms the payment, in more than one language. Customers who'd rather talk transfer to a collector during calling hours.
The ways people pay
Debit and credit cards from the major networks, bank account (ACH), digital wallets where your program has them, wires, and checks or money orders by mail. Customers pay no convenience fee.
Trust accounting you can audit
Payments go into an escrow trust account within 24 hours, then to a trust account kept for you. TSI remits by ACH or wire on your schedule and balances each remittance to a statement, line by line.
How it runs
- 01
Set the terms
You approve the settlement matrix, plan rules, branding, the channels customers can use, how often TSI remits and whether remittance is gross or net of fees.
- 02
Build and test
Your compliance team signs off on every screen, phone prompt, text and email. Test payments run end to end, from the customer's tap to your remittance file.
- 03
Customers pay
Card and bank payments post in real time, and the customer gets a confirmation. Recurring debits from a customer's bank account or debit card start only after the customer signs or otherwise authenticates the authorization and gets a copy, as Regulation E requires (12 CFR 1005.10(b)).
- 04
Watch the plans
Missed payments, declined cards and returned bank payments are flagged within 24 hours. A reminder goes out, and a broken plan goes to a collector.
- 05
Reconcile and remit
Payments move to your trust account and remit on schedule, with an electronic remittance file and a posting file for your own system.
Where it fits with the other stages
Payments sit underneath every ARM stage. Demand communications put the pay link in front of the customer first, and first-party and third-party collections use the same pay page and phone line.
In first-party and demand programs, payments can go straight to you instead; your contract sets which. Payments from estates and bankruptcy trustees on deceased and bankruptcy accounts post and remit the same way.
What you see
Reports break payments out by channel: pay page, phone line, collector, mail and recurring. You also see plans started, kept and broken, settlements offered and accepted, declines and returns, and every remittance with the statement behind it.
Rules that shape the work
Card payments run through a PCI DSS environment. Mailed checks and money orders are opened and posted by accounting staff in a restricted-access area, away from the collection floor.
A collector can't add a fee unless the agreement creating the debt or the law allows it (12 CFR 1006.22(b)). Texts need the customer's consent, which they can withdraw by any reasonable means under the FCC rules in effect since Apr 11, 2025 (47 CFR 64.1200). The FCC amended those revocation rules again, effective Nov 25, 2026 (91 FR 67214), and opt-out handling follows whichever version is in force. Emails and texts also follow Regulation F's delivery and opt-out rules. Some states set trust-account rules for collection agencies too. Colorado, for example, requires a trust account and payment to the client within 30 days after the end of the month in which money is collected (C.R.S. 5-16-123).

The company behind the work
Questions buyers ask
What is a collection payment portal?
A secure web page where a customer with a placed account can see the balance, pay it, start a payment plan or accept a settlement without calling.
Can customers set up a payment plan online with a collection agency?
With TSI, yes, inside the plan rules you set: down payment, number of payments and minimum amount. Plans outside those rules go to a collector, then to you if needed.
How do collection agencies handle customer payments and remit to the creditor?
At TSI, payments go into an escrow trust account within 24 hours, move to a trust account kept for you and remit by ACH or wire on your schedule, daily to monthly, balanced to a remittance statement.
Do collection agencies charge customers a fee to pay online?
Some do, but only where the agreement that created the debt or the law allows it (12 CFR 1006.22(b)). TSI doesn't charge your customers a fee to pay by card, bank account or phone.
How quickly do we get the money?
On the schedule in your contract: daily, weekly, twice a month or monthly. ACH remittances generally credit the next business day, after any agreed hold on check and bank payments.
Can the pay page carry our brand?
Yes. The page, texts and emails go out in your name and branding for first-party and demand programs. Third-party programs carry TSI's name, because TSI is the collector.
See where your customers drop off before they pay
Pick one portfolio. The Recovery Performance Diagnostic maps how its customers pay today, by channel, and shows where a pay link or phone line would add cash you'd otherwise chase by phone.
