Loan servicing for credit unions that don't want to build a servicing shop

You want to offer a loan program to your members without hiring a team to service it for its whole life. UAS runs the servicing on your program rules, and your members see and pay their loans online through the UAS Connect borrower portal.

As of November 2026, UAS, a TSI company, services member loan programs across a range of loan types for credit unions that don't want to build a servicing operation. UAS boards each loan, posts statements to the UAS Connect borrower portal or mails them, takes payments, handles account changes, reports to the credit bureaus monthly and answers member calls.

A member loan outlasts most servicing teams

A loan program is easy to launch and hard to run. Somebody has to bill every loan correctly every month, post every payment, report accurately to the bureaus, process the changes and answer the member who calls confused. For years.

For a credit union with a small lending team, that's a lot of specialized work for one product line, and it lands on the same people who should be making the next loan.

And handing it off doesn't hand off the responsibility. Your examiners will still ask how you oversee the vendor servicing your members' loans, so the servicer has to give you records, reports and access you can show them.

What's included

  • Boarding

New loans board automatically from a data file and an image file. The system checks each file against its edits, and clean files load without a manual release step.

  • Statements and payments

Statements go to the UAS Connect portal, with an email when a new one is ready, or by mail. Members pay by ACH, card, electronic check or paper check, once or on a recurring schedule, and several loans can share one statement.

  • Account changes

Forbearances, address changes, co-signer billing and bankruptcies, processed on your program rules. Active-duty status is checked for Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) protection.

  • Credit reporting

Monthly reporting to the national credit bureaus you choose, with the full reporting history kept for disputes.

  • Member support

Trained borrower service representatives answer calls, and the portal gives members their balance, history and payments any time. See what borrowers get.

  • Delinquency and default

Notices and calls on your schedule, then placement with the collection agencies you choose, daily if you want it.

How it runs

  1. Map your program rules

Rates, billing cycles, fees, grace periods, credit reporting choices and delinquency steps are set per program before the first loan boards.

  2. Convert or board new loans

Your team supplies loan data from your current system, a data dictionary and the field names. UAS writes the conversion programming and reconciles the converted balances with you. Or new loans board with UAS first, and the existing book moves when you're ready.

  3. Train your staff

UAS trains your team before and after the move on account lookup, documents and reports.

  4. Service every month

Statements, payments, account changes, member calls and credit reporting run on the program's schedule, with payments reconciled daily.

  5. Hand off what goes bad

Defaulted loans are serviced until they're paid, placed or written off on your instructions.

Where it fits with the other stages

Servicing keeps a loan current. When a member falls behind, TSI's first-party collections team can work early delinquency in your name before charge-off, and third-party collections can take what's charged off, or you can place with the agencies you already use. Collections and loan servicing for credit unions covers how the two fit together, and servicing continuity explains what to check before any servicer change.

What you see

Your staff can look up any account, its history and its documents online, and pull reports on demand: balances, transactions, remittances, delinquency, defaults and credit bureau history. Payments are deposited and sent to the bank you pick, so your banking relationship stays where it is.

Questions buyers ask

What is third-party loan servicing for a credit union?

It's an outside servicer running the day-to-day work on loans the credit union owns: boarding, statements, payments, account changes, credit reporting, member calls and delinquency notices, on the credit union's program rules. UAS, a TSI company, does this work.

How does a credit union outsource loan servicing to a third party?

Set the program rules with the servicer, send the loan data and documents, and either convert the existing book or board only new loans. Then oversee it through online account access, regular reports and the servicer's records, the same way you'd oversee any vendor.

How hard is it for a credit union to switch loan servicers?

The hard part is the data conversion, so UAS writes the conversion programming, reconciles balances with you and trains your staff. You can also board only new loans with UAS and leave the existing book where it is.

Is UAS Connect software we'd license?

No. UAS Connect is the borrower portal your members use to see and pay their loans. UAS does the servicing itself, and your staff get online access to accounts and reports.

Will our members know a third party services their loans?

Your program decides the branding on statements, letters and the portal, within what your contract and the law allow. Ask about the options in the Servicing Continuity Review.

Who handles disputes about credit reporting?

UAS investigates and responds using the reporting history it keeps for every loan, including paid-off loans, and corrects the bureaus when a correction is due.

Get a straight answer on moving your loans

The Servicing Continuity Review is a 30 to 45 minute working session on your loan program, followed by a written readout: what a conversion or new-loan boarding would take, what UAS would need from you and what it can't take on.
